It works great. I'd imagine your crab pots are quite a bit bigger and heavier than my shrimp pots, though. I'd imagine it will still work, but you'll need a BIG buoy to give the floatation and resistance to lift it (I think the instructions it came with provided some guidance as to buoy size for various weights).
