filling the boxes
Posted by George on Mar 28 2005
I know what your talking about- was tying like mad a couple of months ago. The shotgun approach I guess. Filled all my boxes up with anything that could possibly work. What usually happens is you have one that is working really well and about a hundred of the things that aren't:):) Actually tying mostly for silvers and rainbows. Just black or purple egg sucking leeches on heavy, long 4s or 6s for the silvers. For the rainbows- black, brown and olive wooly worms in long 6s. Various wooly buggers or variations on 4s, 6s. A couple of smolt patterns with and without eyes. Various sculpin, minnow patterns on long 6s. For the grayling- just brown or gray hackle dries on about size 14 and a good supply of black gnat dries of same size. Won't be long!
