[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] pot puller Posted by skydiver on Mar 24 2005 Solution: Bring me with you, I'll pull the pots and you give my half the crabs! I don't know if the system where you pull the anchor line up through the loop (beneath the bouy) would work for the pots. Maybe depends how sturdy the pots are because I think you have to pull pretty aggressively. The other type system they make for pulling anchors (and I'd think this might work for your situation) is where the line runs through a plastic "tube" that allows the line to move only one way through it. Using the loop type system, you have to pull the line all the way to the end where the chain hangs through the loop. If you stopped part way, the line would just slide back out. With the tube type, maybe you could pull more slowly or pull in spurts. Maybe a larger buoy would create more drag in the water to allow you to pull more slowly. I don't know. Should be pretty cheap to try. Of course with the price of fuel these days, paying for a pot puller might not seem like that much.
