Halibut fishing
Posted by alaskanfishguides on Mar 22 2005
Halibut fishing on the Kenai, either Homer or Seward, or Ninilchik/Deep Creek for that matter is great.  The fishing out of Ninilchik/Deep Creek is much more dependent on the weather because they lauch off of the beach for every trip.  Homer and Seward both have harbors.  I have seen whales, otters, puffins, and glaciers out of Homer as well as Seward.  I might recommend trying both if able.  Both are unique and yet offer excellent fishing (as does Ninilchik/Deep Creek).  I recommend Ninilchik Charters out of Homer, Seward and Deep Creek or Chihuly's Charters out of Deep Creek.  All have been fishing for decades in these areas.
