Twenty years ago there was great fishing there. Nowadays there are more planes than fish when the fish are running, so I go elsewhere. But we used to just lob a mass of bait in the river and wait. We would use just enough weight to keep the bait barely moving in the current. When we got bored with that we used good sized Pixee's or Mepp's. Good luck.

By the way, the last time we were there we had a small griz walk right up to the plane and sit down under the wing and pilfer through our tackle and our lunch. It didn't seem too interested in us though, even with all the commotion we were making. Actually fired off a couple of rounds from a 12 guage. It just sat there until it was good and ready to leave. When it was done it got up, stretched, let out a little woof, and sauntered away, unfazed by it all. I still carry the tacklebox with the teethmarks, just for a reminder. So be carefull.
