Mob,

You have ample locations to choose from depending on how much wilderness you willing to put up with i.e. BEARS, and Skeeters!  The Kenai has several trails with fishing to boot! Cresent Creek, Quartz Creek, the Upper Russian River and Lakes etc........  You can also look towards the Chulitna System for great views and fishing "Late July would be good"  Mind you that is the start of the what I refer to as the moisture season!!!!!!

4 Hours away you could hike the cabin trail into the upper Gulkana!
