In fact, I couldn't help myself and emailed PETA, saying how ridiculous this particular effort is.  Now, I hate people who are mean to their pets or shoot animals just to kill something, then waste it.  And I don't really care for how commercially used animals are kept and raised.  I can also understand attempts to cul some of the more heinous abuses of "test" animals used in science.  So I can see a legitimate purpose to PETA as a whole.  But such an attempt as this one, to ban all King salmon fishing, is pathetic and strongly detracts from any message of real value the organization has.
