Important: Kenai dipnetting
Posted by Grey Hackle on Jan 31 2005
This year, ADF&G is required to close the east side setnets for 36 hours beginning between 7 PM on Thursday and 7 AM on Friday in order to allow reds and kings into the Kenai River for the weekend sportfishery.

This means the nets will go back in the water between 7 AM on Saturday and 7 PM on Saturday.

Unless there’s a huge surge of fish, which the nets can’t stop, Sunday will not be the best day to dipnet.  Likewise, if the nets go back in the water early on Saturday morning, Saturday could be slim pickings too.  Plan accordingly.
