[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Herring in Seward Posted by AlaskaHippie on Jan 26 2005 WoW hadn't thought about this in MANY years..when I was a kid we used to go down to the small boat harbor and catch enough herring to last the summer for halibut/flounder/misc. bait. As I recall (and this is a lil fuzzy with time) we usually hit 'em the best in late march thru mid april. We just used small trout rods and bread for bait..seemed to work fine...friends of mine would use grayling sized spinners (mepps) and do just as well... Previous: This was before CABLE T.V.
