Six Mile Creek
Posted by trouting_thomas on Jan 23 2005
Glenwood,
From the little that I've fished Six Mile Creek I would say its run of pinks is comparable to Resurrection Creek and the chum run is probably stronger. I've even heard that there are a few more silvers in Six Mile than in Resurrection, but I have yet to pull a coho out of Six Mile Creek in the few times that I've fished it.
The Alaska Highway Angler lists an access point to the mouth of the creek, but when I scouted the location it appeared to be private property with a small parking area next to an old cemetary. As it appeared to be a private access, I did not walk down to the mouth. Maybe someone else on the forum can provide more definitive info. I access the creek using the take out point for the rafters. It's located across from one of the rafting companies in Sunrise and is just a little chuggy one-laner that meanders down to the creek. It's several miles from the mouth, but there are plenty of fish stacked up in the seams and eddies. Hope this helps.
