Weldcraft Sabre vs. Thunderjet Alexis Classic
Posted by AkBillyBow on May 07 2006
Anyone have opinions on these 2 boats / manufactures??  I have been admiring the Thunderjet Alexis Classic for a while (21 ft, 350 fuel injected, Hamilton 212 Jet).  I recently found a Weldcraft Sabre HT at what seems to be a great price.  It is 20 foot, with 350 carbed, American Turbine sd-309 jet, with most other goodies looking about equal.

The boats look to be built very similarly.  Bottom and sides thicknesses are extremely close.  Both are hard tops.   But, the Weldcraft is $11,000 cheaper !!!!

I am leaning toward purchasing this boat, but wanted to get some opinions on it.  I love the price, but will I be happy with the American jet over tha Hamilton?  And, will the carbureted engine be a let down?  What is the quality of the Weldcraft boats??

Thanks for your help.  Any opinions or input toward either boat is greatly appreciated.  I don't want to spend all this cash, and wish I would have gotten a different boat.
