River access
Posted by jrogers on May 02 2006
The big sue would be fine. For fishing, you can use it to go from the Deshka Landing downstream to the Deshka for kings. Almost anything can make this trip. As for the Little Sue, I have gone out of the Port of Anchorage and gone up this a ways. It gets small and narrow fast, and I was in a jet boat. You might bang up a prop depending on how much water there is in there this year. The Russian is just a small river that flows into the Kenai. Where it enters the Kenai, there is a 'ferry' that transports fishermen across the Kenai to get to it from the highway. No need for a boat here.
