Jets and tunnels
Posted by AKmud on Apr 09 2006
I am running a Lowe 16' with a 5" tunnel.  My motor is a Johnson 40 (Alaskan 35) which is jetted.  The only time I notice cavitation is in the sharp turns which I learned to compensate for.  I now just lean my body weight to the outside of the corner to keep the boat flat as we corner. This seems to keep enough water hitting the jet to make it through.  You might give it a try.  I was thinking about getting the shoe extensions like were mentioned but shifting weight has solved my problems for now.
