Bring a headnet

They are small and cheap enough to bring even if you don't end up wearing it. DEET is effective against mosquitos, however, you will be dealing mainly with biting gnats. Nothing works very well on these pests.

There are bears and you do need to take the normal camping in bear country cautions.
