I can tell you that a 16 to 18 foot flat bottom boat with a jet channel and a 65hp jet would work great in the Kustatan. I work over there and we fish the Kustatan every evening during the Red and silver runs in a boat just like I just described. The boat we use will run in water as shallow as 3" and it is not hard to skip over some very shallow spots. We have gone all the way up the Kustatan and also along way up Black sand creek into the mountains.
