river boat

Without knowing what boat and engine you have I would say forget the floor. It's more weight you could use to carry more gas, camping stuff, etc. I've used 14' and 18' river boats in a few rivers. My boat now is a 14 foot heavy duty welded semi v with a 40 hp jet, so weight is always a consideration.

A VHF radio might not be a bad idea, due to all the plane traffic in that area. As far as I'm concerned a satellite phone is a much better choice for anywhere up here.
