  I went with the 24' last year only because I could afford more options than on the 26'.  I upgraded to twin 150's, 2010c garmin,2 electric downriggers, windlass, ace line hauler, shrimp pots etc.  The only thing you gain on the 26 is a head (I can use a bucket just fine, and don't have to mess with pumping it out)  and a kitchen if you go with the extended cab model.  You also get a few more things on the 26', but I liked being able to upgrade for the same cost...
  I do not think that the asking price is very negotiable, they sell all they get and don't need to dicker a lot.
  The reason the costs have gone up a lot in the last few years for the Hewes Craft is because aluminum as well as all metal has had dramatic cost increases and this cost gets past on to us...
