Aurora
Posted by Daveinthebush on Jan 22 2006
I have had a 21' Aurora for four seasons. I have no complaints on workmanship at all. The bow could be a little more pointed as in a chop I have to slow down a bit. With a 90 h.p. Honda it does pretty good. I can run out to the entrance, spend a night and back to Valdez on 40-46 gallons of fuel. I did get the 60+ gallon tank though. With a clean hull I can get 30 m.p.h. running wide open. But, I like to keep her at about 3,200 r.p.m. and that is about 25 m.p.h. The draft is pretty good and on a hide tide I can float into Shelter Bay for the night. I have had it out in a 4-5 foot seas and she handled it pretty good. With a 6-7 foot sea and waves coming over the bow it is time to take shelter.
