Homer to Afognak
Posted by PastorBob on Aug 30 2005
I went from Seward to Afognak in my 32 foot boat. After the hunt I went from Afognak to Homer. You should do okay but watch the tide coming and going out of Homer to make sure you leave and come back at the right time. Otherwise it can get really "bouncy" from about Flat island out to past where the land ends. If you ever fly over that area you will see a large semi-circle of rough water forming off the tip of land if the tide is running. If you get to that area at the wrong time you can go around it if you go west out over the compass rose and then back on course to Afognak.
