New Anchor
Posted by Bryant on Jul 27 2005
I was introduced to this anchor with the purchase of me new boat...You attach your chain securely to the bottom of the anchor then attach the main stem with a bailing wire or light line to a link in the chain higher up (that will break if you run into problems). When the wire breaks your chain will lift the anchor from the bottom and jerk it right off of whatever it is stuck on. You will need to secure it again before you can use it again, but it saves the headache. They are avaiable in a few sizes at Dewey's. I am not sure of the name but just ask, they'll be happy to sell you one.
