150 Not lighter
Posted by Paul H on Jul 02 2005
From what I've seen in Evinrudes literature, they didn't design the new 150 from scratch, but rather used their existing V-4 design, hence it isn't a terribly light engine.  Their 90 is certainly light for it's size, being an entirely new design.

Tohatsu is coming out with a 135 horse direct inject, and I'm strongly considering it for my boat.  The Tohatsu 90 was the most fuel efficient 90 in a boat mag engine test.

If you're considering 4-strokes as well, the Suzuki 140 is very light for a 4 stroke, as well as fuel efficient.
