Fix it!
Posted by Michael Strahan on Jun 27 2005
Eyesore,

I'd haul it over to Alaska Raft and Kayak and have Tracey Harmon have a look at it.  (I think you're in Anchorage?)  The reason it exploded probably has little to do with defective materials.  If you put an inflatable in the sun the air will expand; sometimes with catastrophic results.  But the damage is repairable.

The issue of the entire boat inflating / deflating indicates that the internal bulkheads have blown.  All that's needed is to open the tubes and re-seal the bulkheads to the tubes.  It's not a huge deal, and Tracey can show you how to do it yourself.

There's an outside chance that the boat is not salvageable, but I'd at least have someone who knows what they're doing have a look at it.  If you decide to toss it because even that is too much trouble, toss it my way!

:-))
