Inflatable Jet boat
Posted by Alaska Series Inflatable Boats on Jun 14 2005
A standard designed inflatable sport boat doesn't work with an outboard Jet motor. There are two basic design problems that make them incompatible. The first problem is that the transom is very susceptible to damage in shallow water where the fabric covers over the bottom of the transom. The second problem you have is the hull shape where the keel ends and the transom begins. There is a little bend that disturbs flow of the water where the jet foot is trying to do the intake this is the cause of your cavitations problems.
I agree with Mike.  You need either trade out either your boat or motor. The combination you have will never work together to your satisfaction.

I designed the 401AJR Alaskan Jet Ranger 401AJR specifically to be used with the 20hp Merc Jet outboard. With 2 people this boat will run 20mph in less then 3 inches of water. It has a 4000 denier bottom to take whatever abuse you can through at it.
Here is the web page on the Alaskan Jet Ranger inflatable jet boat.
