open for the river

You'll get yourself in trouble with the canopy should things go not quite right and you hang onto a big fish and it decides to get upstream in a hurry. But as long as your fishing with another experienced boater, I wouldn't be afraid to risk the chance on a monster king but then....I would not want to lose a trophy fish because I couldn't walk around due to the canopy. I'll confess....last year I was alone on my 20' hewescraft and didn't take the canopy down and it was a terrible mistake. Having to get to the wheel cause the salmon went up river, I  had the rod next to the canopy arms and as the fish kept surging and I was trying to get the boat going the rod snapped.

I was able to land my fish with a broken rod but you don't want to embarrass yourself like I did. "The Lord was with thee" that day fur sure. You can always get a canopy for it and leave it down and have it up in Fall for silvers, while being anchored & kickin back in some slack water
