re inflatables and jets
Posted by stainless on May 29 2005
Thanks for the reply Tracey, the boats keel has been inflated all the way to 7.5 lbs with no real improvements. A couple of days ago I took the dealer owner for a ride to show him how bad it was, we tried for over half an hour to get it on step, we moved the motor in,out up down and no luck. He was quite embarrased, the had basically blew me off for a week. I would return the boat every day and they would try some small motor adjustments and get me to try it, I'v had enough of testing the boat for them. They asked me to give it a try today and I said no, tommorrow the owner and I are going out again, this time the basically built a motor mount behind the transom to move the motor back a bit and be able to adjust it more,im dissapointed big time. as for the serial numbers I dont have the boat handy, I left it at the dealer for now. I wish I could decribe the keel "bubble" better , if you stand at the back of the boat and look forward the keel bulges downward starting at the transom (probably from the inflatable tube), its a poor design.A jet boat friend stopped by and took one look at the keel and said that there was no way a jet will work properly with these imperfections. It just so happens that there is a "zodiac" it there yard getting work done and it has a nice transition from the transome to keel area, if this mod doesnt work Im going to request my money back or credit on another brand of inflatable. I still cant beleive the dealer didn't test the boat before giving it to me, its to the point where I don't even want a boat anymore, I will let you guys know what happens

Thanks, Rod
