"Anchor Buddy" Review
Posted by John S on May 26 2005
After seeing it mentioned on this forum I ordered an "anchor buddy" from Fisheries Supply in Seattle.  Wow, this thing is cool, an anchor line that is 14' long that stretches to 50'.  It worked great in PWS on two trips now.  When I want to go ashore I just drop an anchor attached to the stern of the boat on the anchor buddy about 40 feet from the beach, motor to the shore, jump out with my main anchor line in hand and the boat backs away and I don't have to worry about my boat beating against the rocks or going dry.  When I'm ready to go I just pull the boat to me and the "anchor buddy stretches to allow me to get back on the boat.  I wish I had heard about this sooner.

It's not long enough for overnight in Cook Inlet (Kachemak Bay), but perfect for a short stop on the shore.  Just thought I'd pass along my experience

Next: Agreed! BW May 26 2005
