Anchoring from the beach
Posted by ayakulik on Apr 20 2005
I'm curious as to what everyone does when they wish to anchor from the beach.  I have a 22' Almar and am always visiting the beach in different areas.  I currently set my anchor and/or chain on the bow and reverse coil the line so it will pay out without getting tangled.  I then tie my running line on the nose of the anchor and push the boat out and jerk the anchor off the bow when it's out far enough.  when I'm ready to go, I just pull the anchor and boat in.  Anyone have a better method?  I'd love to hear it!
