I use 16.5 lb claw/bruce anchor with 24 foot length of chain with 600 foot of nylon rode while fishing. For anchoring at night, I use a 22lb claw anchor when anchoring at night. It is probably over kill, but when I wake up in the morning, I have not moved. I sleep well. I attach the chain to the bottom of the anchor and run it up the shaft attaching it at the topp with several wraps of light wire.
