anchor setup
Posted by spoiled one on Apr 14 2005
I have 2 setups for my 24 foot hewescraft.  I use 16.5 lb claw/bruce anchor with 24 foot length of chain with 600 foot of nylon rode while fishing.  For anchoring at night, I use a 22lb claw anchor when anchoring at night.  It is probably over kill, but when I wake up in the morning, I have not moved. I sleep well.  I attach the chain to the bottom of the anchor and run it up the shaft attaching it at the topp with several wraps of light wire.  If the anchor will not come loose, the wire can be broken under power and released from the bottom.  Hope this helps.
