Two Ouboard Troubleshooting Problem
Posted by John S on Apr 03 2005
Hi,
I hope someone has an idea for my problem. I run a 50HP Honda and a 8HP Honda kicker on my Harbercraft 1825. When I added the kicker I ran its fuel line to an extra outlet off the fuel filer assembly.
Now for the problem: When I run the 50 HP at idle for a while it starts to die on me. The fuel bulb is full of air and you have to work for quite a while (sometimes with a dead motor) to get the air out of the bulb and get fuel back to the 50 HP motor. Air is definitely getting into the line from the 8HP. My TEMPORARY solution has been to double the fuel hose over going to the 8HP and put a ty-wrap around it.
I want a more permanent solution that keeps a constant fuel supply to BOTH motors. I bought a cut off valve to mount next to the fuel filter assembly going to the 8HP, but this would be bulky and inconvenient for access in a time of need. The fuel lines going to both motors are Honda original equipment, each with its own primer bulb.
Anyone know the solution for this one.
Thanks,
John
