Always go for a bigger motor. It is my opinion I would rather have extra power available and not need it than to need more power and not be able to get it. If you are buying the boat new it is a lot easier to swallow a small price increase now than to regret it for four years. Dealers are famous for putting together "Boat packages" that have motors that are to small and with trailers without brakes and not enough weight carrying capacity.
