Marita does good work, I believe. I do know for sure that Tracey Harmon does this over at Alaska Raft and Kayak, and he would be delighted to help you with the details of doing it yourself if you called him at the shop.
If you're in Anchorage and are planning to attend the Sportsman Show, he's doing a repair seminar on inflatable boats. I'm certain he could answer your questions there too. He does a lot of Zodiac transoms; that's probably the most common wear point on the whole boat.

I think the solvent you need is toluene.
