I've a rather large zinc welded on to the transom.  One one each trim tab, and of course some on the outboard.  The large one was replaced a year or so ago, and it's still going strong.  I'll probably change it out next time I haul the boat in April.  The trim tab zincs are rather small, and tend to wear out faster.

I don't have a meter for measuring voltage potential, or whatever it is they call that.  I find it somewhat interesting, and plan on learning more about it one of these days.  But, it's not that a big a deal.
