Saltwater trailer brakes
Posted by DreamCatcher on Feb 23 2005
I've read on some other forums folks having trouble with Tiedown Engineering disc brakes, which is what I have on mine.  I ate up a set of pads first season but can't blame this on the brakes.  Was sold a triple axle trailer that only had one set of brakes on it.  Most states require one set per axle.  Added one additional set of brakes this past year.  Braking definitely improved big time.  Plan on adding final set which is the way it should have been sold to me to begin with according to the trailer manufacture. Pull a 24 Sea Sport which is around 8000 lbs.  Some say Kodiak brakes are better but would like to hear comments from others on brake performance and set up.
