hit/miss with other builders
Posted by Paul H on Jan 17 2005
There have been a couple folks in the lower 48 that advertise they build Tolmans, but as to whether they actually build them or not is in question.  Most if not all of the photos on their websites are of Tolman's built by others.

If you were to get a Tolman built the same as a C-dory 22, ie cuddy cabin and pilothouse, it would cost the same the as a C-dory, though IMHO be a better boat.

The cuddy cabin, pilot house, decks, etc, are alot of work.  You can bang a basic hull out pretty quick, but the super structure is probably more time to build then the basic hull.

If you have a heated building space, and an understanding wife, then by all means go for it.
