upgrades
Posted by Bookseller on Jan 14 2005
You are obviously way ahead of me in upgrades to the harbercraft.  I've owned mine for two summers now but all I have done so far is put two Scotty's downriggers and a couple of removable pole holders.  I added a Honda 5hp kicker (major sale @AMDS) which, although small, seems to do just perfect for trolling.  The kicker will push the boat at about 4 mph in calm seas at full power.  I've had mine in Paxon Lake, Lake Louise, Resurrection Bay and PWS out of Whittier.

I've had the same problem with water coming in the sides of the boat. Thanks for the clue about the rubber rail and I will be making the same mod to mine.  I put a windshield wiper on one side only which was a mistake and will be corrected this spring.  Is this rail mounted on the side or the top?

The only other add-on is a depth finder but my plans for this summer are to put a cigarette lighter adapter in to provide power for the hand-held GPS, marine radio, etc.  I also need an adequate anchor rope length for PWS and a better anchor.  50' of anchor rope doesn't cut it when the depth finder reads 150 feet.  Thinking about a whip antenna also and rack mounted marine radio also.
